13 October - National Symposium on Homelessness and Mental Health

Event Description

According to the Examiner (2019), the city of Hobart is experiencing homelessness rates, higher than that of the state’s population growth. The connection between mental health and homelessness is not one that is unheard of, hence, considering this, in Tasmania we have decided to host a ‘National Symposium on Homelessness and Mental Health.’ This conference aims to discuss the issues surrounding homelessness, particularly in relation to mental health, what services are available for those who are homeless and require assistance, what can be done to better these services and how these issues can be minimised in the future.

This conference will be an excellent avenue for members of the community to raise concerns about what is needed to be done in the area of homelessness and mental health. The purpose of this conference is to collate all the concerns raised and prepare a list of recommendations to be sent to all levels of government so necessary actions can be taken to assist those battling with homelessness.

Entry is free for this event, however no donation amount is too small.
