Mental Health First Responders Program

Mental Health First Responders Program

The Mental Health First Responders course which is provided by ShareTree is a globally recognized, certified program that has been developed using psychology and mental health principles and is endorsed by the Mental Health Foundation Australia.

This course focuses on promotion, prevention, and early intervention to support and reduce the impact on a person experiencing mental health distress and minimize the time and cost to recover back to a state of stability. Mental health distress left undetected and unsupported can lead to chronic mental health issues and increase the chance of risk and time for recovery.

How is this different from

Mental Health First Aid Training?

We’re very supportive of the skills and awareness that Mental Health First Aid brings and see it as a valuable contribution to a mentally healthy (and mental-health competent) culture. Using the best practice Mental Health framework of Promotion, Prevention, Early Intervention, and Treatment, our short explanation is that Mental Health First Aid training excels at Early Intervention and referral for Treatment, whereas MHFR training excels at the Promotion and Prevention end of things.
