How To Get Involved

This October let’s talk about mental health.

The Mental Health Foundation Australia (MHFA) is very excited to launch our premier awareness campaign, National Multicultural Mental Health Month 2023. Through this campaign, we aim to advocate for and raise awareness about mental health in multicultural communities.

This year, as we embark on a new mission with a strong focus on multiculturalism, the month embraces the powerful and inclusive theme of 'Celebrating Diversity, Healing Together'.

Join the campaign for unity, mental health advocacy, and awareness in multicultural communities as we stand together to support individuals from diverse backgrounds, shedding light on the unique challenges they face and the resilience they possess.

#Share Your Story

The #ShareYourStory campaign passionately advocates for embracing diverse mental health experiences. By encouraging individuals to openly share their multicultural perspectives on mental well-being, we strive to create a tapestry of narratives that reflect the complexities of local communities. Through personal anecdotes, struggles, and triumphs, participants dismantle stigma, fostering empathy and understanding. We want to foster a safe digital space, creating connections across cultural backgrounds.

#StrengthInDiversity

#StrengthInDiversity celebrates unity, empathy, and support. Through this we aim to embrace the enriching diversity that enhances our society, providing an array of perspectives and solutions to the complex challenges surrounding mental health.

The campaign will encourage open dialogues on mental health within multicultural communities, creating safe spaces to discuss struggles and triumphs openly. It seeks to reduce misconceptions about mental health by addressing cultural stigmas that may hinder seeking help or support. By promoting understanding and acceptance, we aim to empower individuals to seek assistance without fear of judgment or discrimination.
