What is mental health?

Mental health is a key part of our overall wellbeing. It’s about how we think, feel , act and how we manage stress, relate to others, and make choices in our daily lives. Our mental health can change over time, affected by a variety of factors such as our life experiences, relationships, work, and environment. However, mental health challenges are common regardless of age, background, or circumstance. The important thing is that these conditions can be managed with the right support, care, and tools.

How to look after

your mental health?

Mental health is connected to every part of your life. This means that taking care of your body, your mind, and your spirit all play a role in your overall wellbeing. Self-care, regular exercise, healthy eating, and enough sleep are just a few factors that can support good mental health.

Here are some practical ways you can nurture your mental health:

Connect with Others -  Building strong, supportive relationships helps us feel valued and understood.

Get Active -  Physical activity, even a walk in nature, can reduce stress and improve mood.

Talk About Your Feelings -  Talking openly about what you’re going through with a trusted friend, family member, or professional can lighten the load.

Eat Well & Sleep Well -  A balanced diet and good sleep are essential for mental health.

Learn to Manage Stress -  Techniques like mindfulness, meditation, and relaxation exercises can help reduce the impact of stress.
